Enhanced Grids

In our enhanced grids, you can group, sort and filter the rows. You can also arrange columns as best fits your requirements.

Grouping

To enable grouping, drag a column into the “Group By” bar shown above the column headers:

To stop grouping by a column, press the X next to the column in the “Group By” bar.

Groups start out collapsed. To expand a group and see the rows within, click on the > at the left end of the group row.

To collapse a group, click the ˅ which replaced the > at the left end.

While using grouping, each group row shows the number of rows contained within the group in brackets.

Sorting

You can sort on most columns, and you can sort on multiple columns.

To sort by a column, click on the text in the column header. Sorting will cycle through sorting ascending, sorting descending and not sorting, each time the text is clicked.

To sort on multiple columns, sort one column first using the above technique. Then, whilst holding down the SHIFT key, click on the next column to be sorted. Again, multiple clicks will cycle through the sorting options. A number appears next to each sorting icon to remind you of which columns are sorted first, second, etc.

Filtering

To filter the rows which are being shown, open the filtering options from the header’s “hamburger” menu:

Many columns support text searches, as shown above. Some columns have a limited set of possibilities and support checkbox style filtering:

Date columns support a range of filters, including range filters:

Multiple columns can have filters applied at the same time, and each column supports combining two filters via AND or OR, for instance the following would filter rows to exclude the first quarter of 2020:

Column Order

You can rearrange the order of columns by dragging the header left or right within the header bar.

To hide or show columns, access the Grid options in the hamburger menu.

Resetting

On the right end of the Group By bar there are buttons for resetting the layout:

RESET FILTERS will just affect filters without affecting Sorting, Grouping or Column Order.

RESET ALL SETTINGS sets the Grid back to the default layout for that Grid, which may include some default Grouping and Sorting.
